MOSAIC AWARDS PETRIN THE GOLD AWARD
On June 29th MOSAIC recognized Petrin Corporation at an appreciation
breakfast by awarding it the highest honor given. Brad Chance, site
manager for both Uncle Sam and Faustina, presented the award to
Tex Martinez. More than twenty awards were presented and Petrin
was the only contractor or vendor to receive the Gold Award for its
'Excellence in Safety Leadership and Performance'. Tex and the rest of
the Petrin crew are commended for achieving such a high level of safety.
PETRIN RECEIVES LWCC AWARD FOR THIRD YEAR IN A ROW
On March 5th, Petrin Corporation received for the third consecutive year
LWCC's Safest 70 Award. The award is to acknowledge outstanding
excellence and commitment to workplace safety. Companies are recognized
based onthe effectiveness of their safety efforts in preventing injuries and
controlling costs. LWCC has over 19,000 policy holders and only 70
receive this award every year. It is a great accomplishment by all
Petrin employees to have been part of this prestigious award.
PETRIN HOLDS ANNUAL CRAWFISH BOIL
Petrin along with Scaffold Rental hosted over 400 people
on March 25 at the annual Client Appreciation Crawfish Boil.
Although the weather looked daunting in the morning, the skies
cleared and a good time was had by all as the crawfish kept coming, the
music played well into the night. They came from as far away as Kansas,
they came from Texas and Arkansas to attend this annual event.
PETRIN AWARDED PROJECT IN NORTH CAROLINA
Petrin was recently awarded an Insulation project at the DuPont
plant in Fayettville, North Carolina and began working on the
project in early March.
PETRIN HIRES MIKE SHIPP
Beginning in 2010 Mike Shipp became part of the Petrin Team as Director
of Corporate Operations. Prior to coming to Petrin Mike was a Construction
Manager with the Shaw Group in Baton Rouge and had also worked at Ciba-
Geigy and Dow Chemical. Petrin is looking forward to having someone of
Mike's caliber on board.
JOHNSON OBTAINS NACE CERTIFICATION
In January of 2010 Brandon Johnson, Coatings Division Project Manager,
received his Level I NACE Certification. Along with Allen Bevins, Petrin now
has two individuals with NACE certification. Bevins has achieved Level III.
Johnson is on track to become certified at the next level sometime this
year.
PETRIN BREAKS GROUND ON NEW BUILDING
In January of 2010 Petrin Corporation broke ground next to its existing
headquarters on a new building that will house the Estimating and
Construction Management departments. In addition Scaffolding Rental
will also occupy several offices, as well as, Safety Directors from both companies.
Construction should be completed around August of 2010.
BLAST YARD UP AND RUNNING
Petrin's new Coatings and Blast Yard located just off of Highway 1 in Addis, LA
is now fully operational. There is over 30,000 square feet of covered space on
the 18 acre site. Jason Elliott, Coatings Division Manager, has been working
diligently to get the site prepared and fully functional.
FREEMAN APPOINTED TO NIA BOARD
Kenny Freeman, Executive Vice President and Co-owner of Petrin was recently
appointed to the National Insulation Association Board of Directors for a 3 year term.
NIA is headquartered in Reston, VA, and serves the Mechanical and Specialty
Insulation Industry.
BEVINS RECEIVES NACE CERTIFICATION
Allen Bevins of Petrin's Coating Division had received his Level II and Level III Nace
certification. Allen is a Superintendent in the Division but also oversees quality
control at the Blast Yard.
PETRIN NORTH DIVISION MOVES TO NEW OFFICE
Petrin Corporation' El Dorado division moved into new offices in December of 2008.
The office located at 193 Prescolite Drive in Eldorado also has greater warehouse space
for additional material storage.
